Hydrate With A Lemonade Blueberry Slushy!

Nothing cools you down on a hot summer’s day like a slushy. Fortunately, they are easy to make, so you can avoid the artificial ingredients that come with your corner store variety. Lemons, limes, blueberries and cherries are naturally detoxifying, immune supportive and anti-inflammatory so you are sure to feed your body while cooling down.

If you are following the Hot Detox program, this recipe can be made as a lovely lemonade at room temperature by using 2 cups of water instead of ice. For those that can handle a bit of ice at a festive gathering, this is a great substitute for the regular sugary slushy. Perfect swap for the kids!

Ingredients:

3 tbsp       lemon or lime juice

2 tbsp       maple syrup or 12 drops of stevia for a low carb option

pinch        sea salt

2 cups      ice

1/2 cup     blueberries (fresh or frozen)

1/2 cup     cherries (fresh or frozen)

 

Directions:
1. Place all ingredients into a blender. 
2. Pulse your blender to crush ice and save your motor. 
3. Serve immediately. Makes 2 servings.
